Eugene weekend getaway

Last weekend we headed down to Eugene to celebrate some family birthdays.  It was a beautiful weekend filled with relaxing, hanging with the family, checking out the park and enjoying Ashton's coo's and smiles!

Oh the little things!

Mornings...that word is associated with coffee, big comfy bathrobe, messy bun hair, coffee and tired eyes.  Which is why I will never torment you with such a picture.  Thankfully my littles provide a much nicer look at our mornings.  Ashton is bright eyed beginning at 5 AM with big brother following anywhere from 6-7.  Some days its all too early, joys of motherhood right! :)  Also maybe God's sense of humor regarding moms.  He waits til the exhaustion makes us question our desire to be parents then gently reminds us exactly why we wanted that in the first place.  I had two such moments this morning and I am so thankful for them.  First was smiles from Ashton for Jack and I...

Oh wait...I can be serious!

The second moment was on our morning walk when Jack found a feather.  It was tiny, but he carefully picked it up exclaiming; "Its a beautiful feather mommy!", such a sweet little man.  I love being reminded by  my toddler to enjoy the little things in life.  To remember the wonder of discovery and took look at the world thru a child's eyes.  Hooray for mommyhood and littles!

Tummy Time

Jack decided he wanted to "help" baby brother with his tummy time.  Which pretty much meant Ashton was prey to Jack's loving pats, pushes and kisses.  He weathered them all fairly well!

6 months later...and hello new little!

Ashton Wayne Held

We are so excited to introduce you to our newest family member!  Ashton Wayne Held, born January 7th, 2013.  Joining us 2.5 weeks early, he weighed 6.7 lbs and was 19 inches long.  Its hard to believe that we have another beautiful boy.  Ashton has been such a sweet baby, which has been fantastic as older brother adjusts to this new little being invading on his time with mommy! :)  That said, Jack loves to pat Ashton's head or give him kisses.  Can you say blessed?  Because we are, even as I type those words I can't keep tears from my eyes.  Okay maybe its hormones but still, two amazing boys, one super dad and husband, blessed is just the right word.

I haven't been into blogging for awhile, but now that I'm home with my littles I will endeavor to post more regularly.  Welcome back to this crazy thing called our life!
