Hola! Well thats the extent of my spanish for cinco di mayo. We've been gone for the past 5 days in Palm Springs visiting Justin's parents. Can I just say now how much I LOVE the sun! You hear that weatherman, SUN, not rain!
Our trip was awesome, even more so since dad joined us this time. The man was due a vacation! We arrived in Ontario, CA after having to switch planes in Portland before we even left. Jack was a great little flier and slept cuddled next to daddy on take-off. I randomly ran into a friend from college who was on our flight, loved that too, and we arrived in CA to lots and lots of sun, for about 30 min before the sun set! :) Here are a ton of pics from our trip for your viewing pleasure.
Jack and daddy
Anxious to see gramma and grampa
Our first outing to Whitewater, a fish reserve with tons of beautiful pools full of trout. Jack shared his cheerios with them which resulted in much entertainment.
Jean and I found this quote and LOVED it!
Jack and his favorite color of flower, YELLOW, which he happened to say for the first time.
Jack and I showing grampa and gramma our "dolphin swim" underwater. We had just done this in swimming a few days before and Jack did AWESOME!
Jack was quite the little underwater swimmer this trip, such a change from his first swimming experience here at 10 months!
Jack and daddy at Whitewater, can you see his "OOOOOO" face?
This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs
Jack got his vitamin C for the day as he ate almost an entire orange!
Jack and gramma watching the dancers
Which happened to be a cute couple
Our men
Next day we went to the Living Desert Zoo, a camel ride was first on our agenda. Which incidently was a first for all of us.
Almost like being on safari
He was trying it out for a new home, too small
Jack wasn't too sure about the goats, despite dads reassurances
Eventually tho he got more comfortable
I have no words for this guy
Not quite sure what he is doing here, basking?
Olympia the golden eagle, who refused to go back to her handler and eventually flew off to be chased while the crowd waited.
And last but not least an African porcupine
Ahhhhhh....lounging in the pool with grampa
Sunbathing with gramma
Sun baby
We arrived home to clouds but a bit of sun, then yesterday was sunny as well. At least it wasn't a total weather shocker! Jack is happy to be back playing with his chickens, we moved them outside for a day and fed them grubs and worms, and to be hanging out with his Henry dog. Dad is once again immersed in his store, while I am nursing a cold and trying to catch up on laundry. If only vacations could last indefinitely. Oh well, hope you enjoyed our trip as we most assuredly did. Loves!
