Dog Detective

I love that Henry is checking to make sure Jack is still clean!

Fiendish is all I have to say

Jack making sure daddy feels better.

If I just stretch a little farther....

As you can see we had a pretty uneventful weekend bar Justin's bum ankle. Well except for Jack whistling...no joke, I need to get some video of it. Hilarious! He also entertained us blowing his nose, learning to say tractor and circle, and FINALLY signing "please".
How was your weekend???

Lets Go Green

Is that not the coolest wall you've ever seen!!!!!! I love it. This past weekend we spent some time in downtown Portland and found some really unique decorating ideas using some very uncommon things. Wooden pallets, is all I will say about that until I have finished that project but its in the works and I love how unconventional it is! Anyhoo, this plant wall just might be another idea to incorporate into my eclectic decorating scheme! Happy Thursday!

Scientific Type

Today we went to OMSI in Portland, OR for a little exploration. We met up with Jack's good friend Natalie and her mommy. Jack and Natalie are two days apart in age, the mommy's like to think this relationship will go the distance. I mean how cute would it be to have pics of them at one year hanging out??! Anyways, OMSI has this great room just for kids, where moms and kids alike get tired out. :) Here are a few pictures from our jaunt.

FISH!

And new friends made at the ball pit!
All in all we had a delightful afternoon despite the weathermans predicition of lots of snow. In fact as I sit here there is some sunshine peeking out from the clouds. Not a bad afternoon if I do say so myself!

From Baby To Toddler

My friend and I were chatting about how its strange to think of our sons as toddlers now. For so long they have been our babies that its hard to let them move on to that new catagory. That being said Jack just had his first haircut and it has changed his look from my little baby to that of a little boy. I decided we finally needed to take the plunge after his swim lesson in which his hair was longer than all the girls. :) Of course we had to document this momentous occasion and shame on any daddy who sneaks their kid off for a haircut without mommy knowing! Seriously!

Jack and Daddy before he lost his locks.

He sat all by himself in a vintage barbers chair. So far so good!

I was just a little sad to see the hair come off and I think Jack was too.

Jack LOVED the vaccum, go figure. And goodbye comb over.

Spring snow showers

Hello! Today we had a random snow shower. It was supposed to come later in the week but instead it came this morning. Don't you just love weather forecasts? (Wink, wink, nod, nod!)

I can't say that I wasn't just a little bit excited. You know the feeling, the excitement and silly smile you get from watching huge flakes come down and your yard turn into a winter wonderland! A hot cup of jo and I was in a happy place. Anyhoo... I took Jack out to play for just a bit before it started to melt and thought I'd share.

I tried making a snowman...Jack liked snowballs better! Such a boy.

All bundled up now where do I go??

Our backyard at the start of the mini blizzard.

And our front yard!

And here you can see how big the snowflakes were! HUGE!
In our busy schedules we seem to have less and less time to stop and really see the world around us. But, somedays, its okay to take a little extra time to stop and smile at a snowstorm!

Daily Jack

So just because it is Valentine's Day I figured I would share a little extra Jack love with you all!

Jack LOVES books that have things to touch and move.

He recently has added role of "helper" to his resume.

Although he is still working on his technique.

Jack has also discovered a love of throwing dirt, bark dust...whatever!

Here you can see his two bottom teeth and if you look close his two top teeth! Yes they all decided to come in at once, poor kiddo!

Jus and I just love this little man so much!

Today Jack and I went to his first swim class. He was the only boy and the youngest but he had a blast! He even swam underwater twice, which I was so proud of him for.
Now we are home and he is passed out after such an adventursome morning, and with all this dreary rain we are having I'm tempted to join him. Happy Valentine's Day!

Another DIY

So I just had to share one more thing I found today...I know, I don't post something forever then all of the sudden I'm posting like crazy! :) Joys of motherhood and running a business together. Anyhoo, this is such an easy project that I am totally going to do it. Seriously. Thrift store and some paint. Check it out!

Beckoning Spring

I love fresh flowers. There is just something about them that brightens a room and brings nature to you in a presonal way. With spring just around the corner the options are getting even better! Here are some awesome ideas for decorating with flowers and plants that I just couldn't resist sharing. I wish I was brave enough to have an all white room, but with Jack and Justin that just isn't in the cards!

Don't you just love the bucket on the stairs?! I'm so excited to start a flower garden this year and have fresh flowers all summer long!

Sharing the love

[via lysaterkeurst.com]

Recently someone shared with me a wonderful blog written by a christian women who shares her journey with God online. I've had a hard time connecting with people on a spiritual level lately. Something about nap schedules, laundry, dishes and the never ending cycle of daily life seem to be my excuse. Yet in the 5 minutes it takes me to read her daily post a change happens and I feel totally rejuvenated and ready to face my day.

Its the reality of the world we live in, TIME is such a short commodity. Yet God constantly is reminding me how important my time with Him really is. I appreciate these daily reads and would love to share this blog with you. You will find it here.

On another note, Valentine's Day is coming up. Justin and I are starting to rebel against commercialized holidays. But we appreciate the reminder to share the love a little more than usual. We plan on staying in watching a movie. One of my favorites for a romantic movie is The Notebook. If you've never watched it you should definitely check it out. However before you settle in you will need these supplies on hand: kleenex (the soft kind), a bowl of popcorn, a cozy blanket, and your honey.

Whats your favorite romantic movie? I hope you all enjoy a wonderful day of Love. Talk to you soon!
