Monkey bread mornings!
Lately Jack has been enjoying helping me in the kitchen. So back at daddy's birthday he helped me make a yummy breakfast recipe I found on Pinterest. Cream cheese stuffed monkey bread...no not on the list of healthy breakfasts for sure but it WAS daddy's birthday weekend so we had to splurge! Totally worth it! You can find the recipe here!

Oh the little things!
Mornings...that word is associated with coffee, big comfy bathrobe, messy bun hair, coffee and tired eyes. Which is why I will never torment you with such a picture. Thankfully my littles provide a much nicer look at our mornings. Ashton is bright eyed beginning at 5 AM with big brother following anywhere from 6-7. Some days its all too early, joys of motherhood right! :) Also maybe God's sense of humor regarding moms. He waits til the exhaustion makes us question our desire to be parents then gently reminds us exactly why we wanted that in the first place. I had two such moments this morning and I am so thankful for them. First was smiles from Ashton for Jack and I...
Oh wait...I can be serious! |
The second moment was on our morning walk when Jack found a feather. It was tiny, but he carefully picked it up exclaiming; "Its a beautiful feather mommy!", such a sweet little man. I love being reminded by my toddler to enjoy the little things in life. To remember the wonder of discovery and took look at the world thru a child's eyes. Hooray for mommyhood and littles!

2 Months!
Hard to believe 2 months have come and gone already. Ashton is such a sweet little boy and we are so thankful for him!
Ashton Wayne Held
2 Months
22 Inches
10.6 lbs
Likes sleeping with daddy, eating, sleeping, eating, playing with big brother, oh and eating!
Tummy Time
Jack decided he wanted to "help" baby brother with his tummy time. Which pretty much meant Ashton was prey to Jack's loving pats, pushes and kisses. He weathered them all fairly well!
Mirrors never lose their wonder |
Pretty sure he was looking to mom for help about here! :) |
Little Gardener
Planting our first flowers of the year in our hanging baskets was particularly fun for Jack this year as he was able to use some Jack sized gardening tools he received as a gift! Its definitely starting to feel like spring around here!
Smiles
Ashton is starting to get the hang of the whole smiling thing and has been rewarding us most mornings with little periods of talking and grins! Love this little man!
Zoo Adventures Continue
Monday was beautiful...and of course Jack, Ashton and I had to take advantage of said sunshine to get outside and get some fresh air. One of our favorite places to go is the zoo, by far the best investment I've made in entertainment for our family! New to the zoo family as of last year is a baby elephant named Lily. Jack just adores her and we can easily spend 20-30 minutes in the elephant house watching her antics. Nature is by far the best entertainment one could ask for! Happy Monday!

This Cheetah startled Jack and he made a hasty retreat :) |
All the animals were enjoying the sunshine!
Our traditional ice cream cone was traded out for a bag of popcorn |
